About The Event

The main Poets and writers we will encounter today are these:  Daniel Berrigan, S.J., a Jesuit priest and poet who was famous for his wide-ranging output of non-fiction  and poetry, much of which revealed his deep distrust of the various groups and gurus that gradually forged a kind of “military-industrial-educational” movement of his time (and therefore, in sum, ours); Linda Hogan, a Chickasaw Native American Poet, whose care for her  tribal inheritance was strong and her poetic laments and musings well-founded and framed; and Denise Levertov, a British-born woman who came to live in America, and also became a writer of insight – one who showed that she understood why Poets of today  share a duty to the people and place in which they dwell, in order to justify the contours of the ongoing reflective life-journey.

There will be time included for prayer and reflection, in group or…
